961 Totaled Recall
CAR-BOOM
Hey Regulars, I hope you are all managing to make it through your Superbowl induced hangovers. Extra cup of coffee, sleeping in the bathroom stall, Bloody Mary (if your lucky) or whatever you use to get past the headache. Anyway, we have an exciting week ahead for you. This week we take on the recall crisis that has been sweeping various Toyota models. I am sure tomorrow Phil will get into more detail about the actual recall, but for now you get to listen to me inform you about the wonders of drawing.
Last week we had two strips in a drive through, and now this week we are taking on the Prius recall. One linking factor between these weeks, Cars. I hate drawing cars. I feel like I can never get them to look like they actually do. I never doodled race cars growing up. I’m not a technical drawer by any means, so it has been a bit of a challenge for me get these strips up for you.
I hope you enjoy… and don’t be critical of my car drawings… I have a very fragile psyche when I’m hungover. Let me hear your favorite hangover cure in the comments section!

You don’t need to worry much about how well you draw cars — they are sufficiently car-like for the purposes. All comics artists seem to fret about some aspect of their abilities, but as long as the story or joke gets conveyed reasonably effectively, the verisimilitude of the drawing is not all that important. That’s not to say you shouldn’t constantly seek improvement of course — you must at least attempt to satisfy your own muse. But you’re doing just fine, IMHO.
However, you could use a better spell-check: “breaks” should be “brakes.” Those doggone homophones — they’ll get you every time!

gatorade is the only cure. and i think that is pretty accurate for a Prius, they are ugly anyway.

oh, and my hangover cure: bottle beer and a pickle, a frozen margarita, or a smoothie (i did the smoothie thing this morning – worked like a charm!)
