The Concerning
Hey Regulars, it’s everyone’s favorite comic artist Jim here! I have for some time now frequently found myself faced with a concern over the backgrounds of Happy Hour. This strip is a good example of times where I get caught up in the moment, and just keep making the background more and more detailed. Now, I will be the first to admit that the backgrounds are rarely integral to the joke of the strip. However, we here at Happy Hour take pride in the strip, and like to make them amercing.
So, anytime you see one of these backgrounds that seem overly complicated, take pride in knowing that someone over here at Happy Hour wanted to massage your eyeballs with a little world unto you and the characters portrayed in them.
This particular background was my representation of a certain little spot on Rutgers. 5 points to anyone who can tell me which one.
Happy guessing!

The building-tree-wall place! Ohhh college. You’ve brought back so many memories for me Jim. I often dream of the fun times i had at the building-tree-wall place…. often with a single tear falling from my eye.

You know, Im reminder of the time I once asked a very nice girl to meet me at building-tree-wall. It was a nice fall evening and I was looking to pitch some woo. I jumped the EE, which at the time went to building-tree-wall place – this of course being before they changed the routing (I believe the F took you there after the change). Anyway, I’m there at building-tree-wall place with all the throngs of other college co-eds enjoying the night and what this particular place had to offer, what with its building, its trees, and its beautiful wall (ohh that wall!). A few minutes go by and I get a phone call on my cellular. It’s the girl I was meeting. She says “where are you?” I say “building-tree-wall place.” She says “OHHH I thought you said building-BUSH-wall place!” We shared a laugh. Then I called her stupid and never talked to her again!

I don’t know Rutgers bc I’m usually blacked out when I’m visitint… but I hope this is the place where that kid hung himself outside of the cafeteria. NO eggs this morning. Sorry kids. This selfish kid had to kill himself. Too soon?
