Movember (No-shave-ember)…
I’m sure you have all heard of Mustache March, but Movember or what I also recently discovered, “No-shave-ember”, is news to me. Apparently it is for prostate and testicular cancer awareness and support, so I am down with that. Well the Movember site is for cancer awareness… noshavember looks like its more for fun, but why shouldn’t the two try and reach the same goal. Also not shaving appeals to me. Also (I know lots going on here), I recently trimmed my beard down to almost nothing for halloween, so it worked out well for me to start a new. Like the Phoenix rising from the ashes my beard is growing back nicely.
I saw that you can start a “Movember Team” over at their website. If anyone is interested let me know and maybe we can start a Happy Hour one. It would give you a nice excuse to look like a whacko in front of your family durring Thanksgiving. I won’t require mustaches, just not shaving, then on the last day of the month or as close as we can get we can shave down to mustaches and go out and celebrate, or just rock beards. Much like Xmas and bday’s it’s the thought that counts, unless you’re a jerk then for you we will go with staches, but you better support our testicles.

wow phil, its like someone invented a holiday/charity event just so i couldn’t participate in it. it takes me a month just to grow a shittty stash. i still wanna be on the team though

I am so down. I did this last year and finished the month off looking like a perverted lumberjack. Wecht shaved his beard for a bachelor party this summer (moustache golf in AC) so I wonder if we can get him to do it again!

i would’ve had to have been clean shaven on halloween and we all know that would not have been conducive to my costume. Not to mention I’m kinda torn about being involved with the Movember people. While they are sponsored by Canadian Club (which is awesome), they are also associated with Livestrong. Doesn’t sound like it should be a problem, right? Well it is. Goddamn Lance Armstrong lost all my respect when he became the official spokesperson for Michelob Ultra. I mean, come on , Lance. Really?

Well, see, I actually respect that. There are so few professional sports people sponsoring beer that it’s almost crazy. I mean, other than George Clooney and Sam Elliot doing voiceovers for Bud and Coors respectively, I can’t think of any other “celebrities” who sponser beer.
